Kettering Wooden Boat Rally 7
Friday 11th – Sunday 13th February 2022.
Tasmania's favourite other celebration of wooden boats is back for 2024!
Let's make the 8th rally as memorable as the boats that enter it!
About this event
With a fun and rewarding on-water and social program, you won't want to be anywhere else that weekend!
Whether you are custodian of a much loved family dinghy, have just finished building your first kayak, are restoring a traditional Tassie cray boat, or are mad for sailing among other timber boats, this is your weekend to head down to the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel on, or with, your wooden boat.
The Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania and the Kettering Yacht Club are proud to be once again hosting the Kettering Wooden Boat Rally (KWBR8). It is with great pride that both organisations are able to come together from the 9-11th February 2024 for the 8th Rally!
Saturday 10 February 2024 will start with the launch of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival's restored Derwent Class Yacht Undine at 9.30am for 10.00am, Oyster Cove Marina travel lift. Following the launch there will be the assembly of all boats in the rally for a sail/motor/paddle pass in the Channel off Kettering. Then the various events will commence for the rest of the Saturday and on to the Sunday culminating in award giving on the Sunday evening.
Running alongside the Rally will be the Derwent Class World Championships.
There will be plenty of opportunities for 'boat perving' and chewing the fat with other wooden boat tragics. Each night there will be get togethers at the KYC, with food vans and the bar open. The Rally will conclude on the Sunday night with an awards and trophy presentation.
Both the Oyster Cove and Southaven Marinas will make berths available where possible for visiting boats and there is plenty of space around the KYC for trailered vessels.
Full details and entry links are available on the KWBR website. Don't hesitate to enter what will be a wonderful weekend of wooden boats out on the water and on-shore.
